In metalurgy we provide top-quality services according to requirements and drawings, such as:
- Production of patterns,
- Production of castings from ferrous and non-ferrous alloys,
- Production of forgings (die-forged or hammer forging) including heat treatment,
- Production of weldments,
- Machining of manufactured parts.
Through PCC Rail S.A., which is a part of the PCC SE holding, we also sell foundry sands of Polish provenance from the "SZCZAKOWA" Jaworzno area. We supply top-quality silica sand with SiO2 content of 98% with varied grain size and round shaped grain.
Quality Polish siliceous grog from the Szczakowa sandpit
The quality of foundry sands - their granulometry, surface and shape, chemical and mineralogical composition - affects the adhesive-cohesive behavior of moulding sand when reinforced by various kinds of binding agents. These properties affect the solidity of mixture, air permeability, durability, etc. as well as the amount of necessary binding agent needed to achieve optimal solidity values, which is reflected in the end price of grog affects the creation of heat and the chemical penetration of metal into the mould core surface, which can cause spoilage of the produced castings.
The surface and shape
The surface and shape of grains corresponds to the allochthonous deposit of silica sand and its high quality. Grains were usually carried over in water and air. They have a round isometric shape. According to the classification by L. Petržela, the shape is isometric - a1. Grains are round - B5 to 6. the surface of the grain is mooth - C. Grains are solid without splitting. Sand from the Szczakowa location belongs in the category of silica sands according to ČSN 72 12 05 - 81 with classification KI - 27 - C. Grog with this shape and surface quality is suitable for all kinds of binding systems.
Silica foundry grog from the Szczakowa location is offered in three basic grain sizes with medium - sized grain of d = 0.22 mm, 0.27 mm and 0.35 mm. It is suplied in wet or dry state, in big bags or packed in bags of 25 kg. We use rail road transport at the client's request, in bulk or silo trucks. Silica sand from the Szczakowa location is top-quality grog, in particular due to the round shape of its grain, the high quality of the surface, i. e. grain smoothness and compactness, and its low absorbing capacity. Grog with this shape and surface quality is suitable for all kinds of binding systems. In compact mixture, there will be more contact between grains; mixtures achieve higher solidity after mechanical or chemical reinforcement. Core mixtures are characterized by lower use of binding agent. The content of substances that wash away is very low, which is why universal use of grog is also possible for inorganic binders (synthetic resins). For these reasons, this grog is used succesfully in many Polish and Czech foundries.
